Disclaimer: This calculator provides planning-level estimates using editable average prices. Driveway costs vary with region, access, slope, drainage requirements, and contractor availability. Long rural driveways may also need culverts and entrance permits. This is not a quote — get multiple local quotes before budgeting.
How this estimate works
Cost = area × installed price per square foot for your surface (2026 Canadian averages: gravel ≈ $1–4, asphalt ≈ $3.50–8.50, broom-finish concrete ≈ $10–17, stamped ≈ $15–22), plus base preparation if you chose new construction or soft ground. The result is a ±15% range. Gravel includes compacted granular; asphalt and concrete assume standard 2–4" surface over a prepared base.
